Divide the following

1) 5632 ÷ 6


Quotient = 938

Remainder = 4

2) 7460 ÷ 7 


Quotient = 1065

Remainder = 5

3) 4964 ÷ 8


Quotient = 620

Remainder = 4

4) 8616 ÷ 6


Quotient = 1436

Remainder = 5

5) 8645 ÷ 7


Quotient = 1235

Remainder = 0

6) 5742 ÷ 9


Quotient = 638

Remainder = 0

7) In my school, there are 1115 students from class 1 to 8. If the number of students is same in all the classes, how many students are there in each class?

Total no. of students = 1115

No. of classes = 8

= 1115 ÷8


Answer: No of students in each class =139

8) The height of a mountain is 7821 m. Raj took 9 days to reach the top. How many metres did he cover daily if he travelled equal distances every day?

Height of a mountain = 7821 m

No of days Raj took = 9

He covered = 7821 ÷ 9


Answer: He covered = 869 metres.

9) A total of 1787 kg wheat has to be packed equally in 7 bags. What will be the weight of each bag?

Total weight of wheat = 1787 kg

No of bags packed = 7

Weight of each bag = 1787 ÷ 7


Answer: Weight of each bag is 255kg
